On Breckenridge Lane may close without your help. Parks and Recreation is planning to close Watterson Pool at the end of the summer. As most of you are aware the homeschoolers utilized Watterson pool last school year. It provided us with an economic, convenient and safe place to swim. Economics for re-erecting the bubble and maintaining the pool through the winter months is Metro Parks major concern. Pool managers feel they have a plan to address these concerns. Now is a crucial time for your voice to be heard. You may call Brigid Sullivan, Aquatics Director at 456-8162 or write her at Metro Parks, 1297 Trevilian Way, Louisville  40213. Let her know you are in favor of keeping the pool open throughout the year. Even if you haven't utilized the pool, a quick phone call of your support will be greatly beneficial to all homeschoolers. Did you know that Louisville and Jefferson County have 112 parks totaling 10,499 acres? Many of these parks include golf courses, tennis courts, tracks, fields, stables and more. The three original parks were Cherokee, Iroquois and Shawnee and were designed by landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead in the early 1890s and are connected by a system of parkways.
